Assessment is the procedure by which a counselor or program gathers and evaluates information about a client’s psychological, emotional, behavioral, and social functioning to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
An individual therapy session is a confidential, one-on-one space where clients explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with a trained therapist. Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes and focus on building insight, developing coping strategies, and working toward personal goals. A safe environment to foster trust, challenge patterns, and support meaningful change. Each session is tailored to the client’s needs—whether addressing anxiety, navigating life transitions, or deepening emotional awareness.
Addiction deeply impacts family systems, often creating cycles of secrecy, blame, and emotional instability. Families may struggle with broken trust, enabling behaviors, or unresolved trauma.
